Biography

I have been passionate about tutoring since high school when I helped run my school’s peer-to-peer tutoring club. My passion for teaching and tutoring continued to grow in college where I worked as a teaching assistant for various math and computer science courses. I ultimately became the head teaching assistant for discrete mathematics and received several awards from the computer science department for my dedication to the classes I worked with.

As a graduate from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in mathematics, I love sharing my passion for math and computer science with students. While some students may struggle with these concepts in the beginning, I find that with my previous experience, I can help them build a lasting passion for these subjects.

Tutoring has always allowed me to explain subjects that may seem complex or distant in a relatable way, allowing the students to understand the topic and why they are learning it. The most rewarding parts are seeing the “aha” moment in students when the material starts to come together and watching the students’ confidence in a subject grow.

When I am not tutoring, I can be found helping coach rowing, racing in triathlons, crocheting various knitwear, or baking sweets.
