Biography

My journey into education began with a deep passion for knowledge and a genuine desire to help others learn and grow. I’ve always enjoyed breaking down complex topics and making them easier to understand, and my goal is to guide students in building confidence in themselves and their dreams, no matter where their journey begins.

I was born and raised in El Salvador and earned my degree in human biology with honors from UCSC. During my time there, I developed a strong passion for teaching the sciences and a deep understanding of the human body. I also became a member of the Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa. My diverse background in clinical research, public health, and yoga has shaped my belief in holistic education—one that fosters not only intellectual growth but also personal and emotional development. As an educator, I draw from my own experiences to make learning both meaningful and engaging for my students.

My love for tutoring comes from my academic journey and my curiosity about how the world works. Whether I’m working with high school students to master biology or elementary and middle school students to lay the foundations of math and language arts, I enjoy encouraging my students’ own curiosity and passion for learning. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch students tackle challenging topics, gain understanding, and sharpen their critical thinking skills.

In addition to tutoring, I am a certified yoga instructor and Reiki Master, and these practices have greatly influenced my teaching philosophy. I create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel safe to explore new ideas. I aim to equip them with tools not only for academic achievement but also for managing stress and fostering personal growth. In 1-on-1 sessions, I tailor my approach to each student’s individual needs, addressing their unique challenges and learning styles.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy teaching and practicing yoga, reading, spending time in nature, and being with my pets.
