Biography

I have loved learning since I was a kid. While growing up in southern Minnesota, I always had a book in my hand, whether I was sitting in class, attending a concert, or eating out at a restaurant. When I had my first experience tutoring in high school, working as an academic student coach, I realized that the only thing more fulfilling than learning for myself was helping others learn. I was struck by the impact I could have by sharing my zeal for learning with students who were struggling to keep up with the demands of their coursework. When I was in college, I continued to grow my love for tutoring by providing academic aid to students struggling in any of the advanced math courses I had taken. By the time I graduated, I knew I wanted to use my passion for pedagogy to light the way for as many students as possible.

I work with my students by leveraging their strengths to overcome their weaknesses as part of a customized plan. I believe in true one-on-one work, tailoring my methods uniquely to each student. My ultimate aim in working with students is for them to attain self-assurance in their capacity to achieve academic milestones, rendering my further assistance unnecessary. Seeing my students gain confidence gives me unparalleled joy and motivates me to continue doing this work. My goal is to make a difference for as many students as possible.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing classical music on the piano, reading and discussing books with my wife, and watching horror movies with my friends.
