Chelsea Greene

Regional Director, Test Prep & Academic Tutor

Biography

A proud Silicon Valley native, I was raised with an insatiable curiosity.

My quest for knowledge (and inability to deal with rain) led me to the beautiful UC Santa Barbara, where I pursued a degree in Biology and dabbled in philosophy – my way of exploring life’s mysteries.

While in college, I recognized early on that the gender gap was still a serious presence in math and science: I was one of only two girls in my 200-person multivariable calculus class! It’s been my mission ever since make sure everyone has a seat at the STEM table.

Over my 10 years tutoring with AJ I have been blown away by the power of one-on-one tutoring and, more so, by the fantastic growth my students have made. My focus at AJ is Math and Test Prep, and I love that in both subjects we are able to set a goal, build our tool kit, and then use those tools to tackle bigger and bigger problems. My philosophy of teaching is simple: You can do this. I focus on giving students the knowledge, skills, confidence, and motivation they need to be able to reach their goals. I ask my students to work hard, but I also do my absolute best to make their work as bearable and efficient as possible.

In addition to my tutoring practice, I have had the opportunity to lead a few of AJ’s Internal departments that I think make the company truly special. Namely, our Academic Departments (I led the PreCalculus Department) and our Social Outreach Program.

I now serve as the Regional Director of the South Peninsula Region which includes our Palo Alto, Los Altos, and Mountian View offices. It is truly an honor to help hire, train, and manage this fantastic team of tutors.

Outside of the office, you’ll find me with my family, friends, and dog or indulging my curiosity with board games, video games, and epic fantasy series.

Happy parents and students.
