Biography

I’ve always been passionate about education, stemming from a desire to foster a love for learning in students and share the guidance that shaped my own academic journey. My interest in tutoring began in high school when I worked as a writing instructor for elementary school students who didn’t have the same access to resources I did. That experience shaped my belief in the power of mentorship and personalized support, which I strive to bring to every session.

Born and raised in San Francisco, I attended Saint Ignatius College Preparatory School before I moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, where I earned a degree in history while following a pre-medical track. My undergraduate years were enriched by research opportunities in both biomedical sciences and history, allowing me to appreciate the intersection of science, culture, and education. These experiences not only deepened my academic curiosity but also shaped my holistic approach to teaching. Now, as I prepare for medical school, I am excited to continue fostering my love for learning while helping students achieve their academic goals.

My passion for subjects like biology and chemistry grew out of my own educational challenges with them. Overcoming these difficulties taught me the importance of making learning accessible and enjoyable. I enjoy using tools like mnemonics to simplify complex concepts and make the process engaging for students. My philosophy as a tutor is to build a strong foundation and gradually develop mastery, always tailoring sessions to the unique needs of each student.

Outside of tutoring, I love reading, running, exploring new restaurants, and building LEGOs! These hobbies help me stay creative and curious—qualities I bring into my teaching as I encourage students to think critically and embrace their academic journeys.
