Benjamin Madej

Biography

Math and science are interesting subjects because they can be used to solve challenging problems. Starting in elementary school, I wanted to study STEM subjects so that I could build creative solutions to problems. First, I wanted to work on biomedical technologies, so I studied biomedical engineering at Washington University to learn how to apply engineering to medicine. Later, because I wanted to apply computer science to pharmaceutical drug discovery,  I completed a Ph.D. in chemistry at UC San Diego. Following the completion of my education, I have worked on data engineering and data science at health / life sciences / biotech companies.

One of my goals is to help students learn STEM subjects and also to help students grow their interest in STEM subjects. As a math and science tutor with AJ Tutoring and I am always excited to help students with STEM classes. I enjoy teaching math and science subjects as well as providing space to absorb material, learn skills, and practice with guidance. It is great to see students engage in and overcome challenges while learning.

I think there are many ways for students to connect with math and science classes. As a tutor, I enjoy finding creative ways to help students achieve their academic goals.

In my free time, I enjoy going out to take photos, staying home to paint, and listening to music anywhere!
