Biography

While completing my double major in political science and applied mathematics at UC Berkeley degree, I got the chance to explore and discover many of my academic interests. I became passionate about ecology and pursued a master’s from the Indiana University O’Neil School of Environmental and Public Affairs with a focus in municipal policy. My interdisciplinary background gives me the scope and flexibility to help with the many topics covered by the SAT.

I loved my time at UC Berkeley, where I found my fiancé and my passion for writing. As an out of state student, it was difficult to get in, and I appreciate how much my SAT score and essays helped me. I value the opportunity to enable more students to go to their dream schools, and I enjoy guiding students through the process of studying effectively, whether for their SAT and ACT exams or in their academic studies.

It was at UC Berkeley that I also found my interest in tutoring through running the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing Workshop. I ran exercises, critique sessions, and presentations on writing (and had a great time doing it!). After graduating, I went through a brief stint in a corporate finance job before realizing I wanted to connect with my community and enable other students to be successful in their learning.

My goal is to engage with each student as an individual and to respect each student’s individual goals, learning styles, and mental health. I’ve volunteered as a facilitator for community support groups for many years, and I find it meaningful to support people in their lives and goals.

When I’m not tutoring, I’m pursuing my creative work, from making colorful digital art using Procreate to writing sci-fi and fantasy novels and short stories.

Happy Parents and Students

"My tutor was fantastic in helping me understand how to begin to look as problems on the SAT. She helped to explain difficult concepts in simple ways, and gave me insight as to how I would see these concepts presented on the test. "
