Biography

Growing up, some of my favorite and most productive study sessions involved explaining concepts to my friends. Through this method, I reinforced for myself what I had learned, and I also found significant value in increasing another person’s understanding. I further developed my passion for teaching others during my final two years at NYU, while working at my school’s peer tutoring center, where I assisted other students with STEM courses I had previously taken at the university.

I became interested in science during my first chemistry class in high school. I was constantly fascinated by how the subject served as the basis of numerous aspects of our daily lives. When taking AP Biology the following year, learning about complex biological processes and understanding the chemistry behind them made it a no-brainer when deciding what major to pursue in college. While pursuing a degree in biochemistry, I became involved in research that allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to understand the biochemical mechanisms of therapies for neurodegenerative disease.

As a tutor, I aim to cater to each student’s unique needs and to help them navigate difficult topics by simplifying material in a way that they can grasp more readily. By helping students become more confident, I hope to instill in them diligent study habits and to help them take a more active role in the learning process. Furthermore, I strive to help students avoid the pitfalls of rote memorization and expand their appreciation for the sciences by providing them with a strong conceptual understanding.

Aside from tutoring, I enjoy running, playing basketball, cooking, and gardening.
