Biography

Growing up, some of my favorite and most productive study sessions involved attempting to explain concepts to my friends. From this method, I reinforced what I was learning to myself, but I also found significant value in being able to increase another person’s understanding. During my final two years at NYU, I further developed my passion for teaching others while working at my school’s peer tutoring center, where I assisted other students with several STEM courses I had previously taken at the university.

During my first chemistry class in high school, I was constantly fascinated by how the subject served as the basis of numerous aspects of our daily lives. When taking AP Biology the following year, learning about complex biological processes and understanding the chemistry behind them made it a no-brainer when deciding what major to pursue in college. While pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, I became involved with research where I applied what I learned in the classroom to understand the biochemical mechanisms of therapies for neurodegenerative disease.

As a tutor, I want to cater to each student’s unique needs and help them navigate difficult topics by simplifying material in a way that is more readily grasped. By helping students become more confident with their subjects, I hope to instill them with diligent study habits and help them take a more active role in the learning process. Furthermore, I strive to help students avoid the pitfalls of rote memorization and grow their appreciation for the sciences by providing them with a strong conceptual understanding.

Aside from tutoring, I enjoy running, playing basketball, cooking, and gardening!
