Biography

As a first-generation Asian American, I was born into a family that deeply valued education. Although my parents weren’t highly educated, they instilled in me the importance of perseverance and hard work. At a young age, I experienced firsthand the powerful impact of individualized tutoring through my own math and science mentor, who shaped my academic journey.

I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering, where the “learn by doing” philosophy strongly influenced my approach to education. This hands-on, practical method of learning is something I now bring to my tutoring sessions, helping students grasp difficult concepts through real-world applications.

After graduating, I worked in Silicon Valley’s chemistry labs and cleanrooms while pursuing my Master’s at San Jose State University. Today,  I am committed to helping students excel in chemistry and biology by making learning both engaging and practical. I always hope to inspire students to cultivate curiosity, build confidence, and develop problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom, empowering the next generation to succeed just as I was empowered during my own academic journey.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy staying active by going on hikes, attending live music concerts, and pursuing my passion for weightlifting. I’m also an avid, albeit novice, gardener, always learning something new about growing my own edible garden.
