We are very excited to announce that AJ Tutoring has been approved for Initial Accreditation as a Supplementary Education Program by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for grades 9-12 through June 2024! The Commission will ratify this action at the Winter 2021 WASC Commission Meeting.
After a rigorous application process and hosting WASC’s accrediting committee for a full-day of virtual visit with parents, students and tutors, we now enjoy a distinction shared by few educational providers.
Why Accreditation is Important to Us
Our new SEP status formally recognizes us for the qualities that have long made AJ Tutoring the Bay Area’s provider of efficient, personalized, high-quality and results-oriented tutoring:
- Successful collaboration between students, parents, and AJT educators to facilitate student learning
- Students’ documented progress toward clearly defined learning outcomes
- Curriculum, instruction, and assessment that support high achievement for all students
- Support for students’ academic and personal growth
We are especially excited by this formal recognition by WASC because its commitment to educational excellence matches our own. To ensure we at AJ Tutoring maintain the highest standards of educational excellence and continuously improve our services, WASC will ask us to complete another thorough self-study assessment and host another visiting committee to evaluate the quality of our programs and our students’ successes before the end of our 4-year accreditation period.
We are looking forward to working with WASC to deepen our commitment to providing customized, flexible, and impactful learning experiences to students.
