Course Description:

This course will focus on providing students with a head start on the strategies and skills required for writing essays for AP history classes in order to give students an advantage in their upcomingn coursework. The Document Based Question (DBQ) requires students to understand and use documents to respond to a prompt. The Long Essay Question (LEQ) requires that students use their own knowledge of the topic to respond to a prompt. Both are timed and handwritten, which many students are not used to. This course will introduce students to these essay types and the strategies required to be successful. Students will have the opportunity to practice these essays and get a head start on some course content to reinforce their summer homework.
