Goals:
Recently, Korean culture has become increasingly prominent. Streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu continue to add content and shows in Korean; K-POP is a global phenomenon that only continues to grow; Korean food products are popping up in grocery stores.
This class will equip you with basic vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills, with the goal of being able to navigate essential conversations to get by in Seoul without a translator. We’ll introduce various media to expose students to the language and expand their retention. This is a highly student-centered course that can also be adapted to meet students’ goals with the language and future studies.
Students who stay actively engaged in the learning process during the summer perform better during the school year.
