Course Description:

Mathematical proofs often differ from material that students have encountered in their past courses, so they seem daunting and unintuitive. In this course, students will develop their skills in writing proofs for their Geometry and Algebra 2 classes. We will cover each type of proof in order to develop students’ understanding of and confidence in writing proofs and to prepare them for success in their upcoming math courses.

Topics include proof by induction, indirect proofs (proof by contradiction), and deductive proofs (including two-column, paragraph, and flow charts).

Make the Most of the Summer!

Students who stay actively engaged in the learning process during the summer perform better during the school year.
