Biography

Reading, painting, and solving math problems have always been activities where I could lose myself for hours. So, when it came time to choose a major, math was an easy choice. Some of my fondest memories are from late nights spent in the library, working through challenging problems with friends.

I studied mathematical physics and modern geometry at the University of Wisconsin. This experience solidified my decision to pursue graduate studies, which led me to the breathtaking mountains of Montana. Living in such a beautiful place while studying something I enjoyed felt like a dream come true. My graduate coursework focused on geometry and topology (the branch of math that shows you that a mug and a donut are topologically the same!)

During my time at Montana State University , I taught college algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus I & II to undergraduate students, first as a graduate teaching assistant and later as a faculty member. Through this experience, I realized that my favorite part of teaching was working with students one-on-one.

I love sharing my curiosity for math and watching students succeed. My goal is to help create a deep understanding of the concepts and strong foundational skills, so the students feel confident and comfortable channeling their own creativity. I strive to create an empathetic, inclusive environment where curiosity can flourish and learning through trial and error is welcome and encouraged.

In addition to mathematics, I enjoy traveling, swimming and spending time with my cats. I also love baking and tea—so you’ll always find a fresh loaf of bread and a variety of teas to choose from at my place.
