Biography

I have always had a deep passion for reading and exploring various topics and subjects, especially biology and math. Growing up, I was naturally curious and eager to learn about how things worked, which ultimately led me to pursue a degree in Biology and Data Science at UC Berkeley. Throughout my academic journey, I had the unique opportunity to dive deep into both fields, discovering the fascinating intersections between them, and it was during this time that my love for interdisciplinary learning really flourished.

Being born and raised in the Bay Area, I was immersed in a culture that strongly valued education, and this environment I grew up in helped shape my own academic path as well as displayed to me how important educators are in shaping the lives of their students. Overtime, I developed my own personal passion for teaching, and I realized that I wanted to help others experience the joy of learning that I had.

My tutoring journey began in high school where I mentored elementary school students in reading and writing. Later, while at Berkeley, I became a tutor for an introductory data science class, where I was able to lead group sessions and support students with homework and project assignments. I find immense joy in working with students of all ages and in seeing their growth and progress over time.

My approach to tutoring centers around creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and engaging with the material without fear of judgment. I believe that this openness fosters a deeper understanding and creates a stronger foundation for long-term learning. I also aim to identify and adapt to each student’s unique learning style in order to lead engaging and thought-provoking lessons.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy grabbing delicious food with friends, playing the guitar, and spending time with my dog.

"Mt tutor was very relatable and was very easy to talk too which made it a comfortable learning environment. They were also a very good teacher and helped me learn a lot of difficult parts of Algebra 2. "
