Sherry Chiang

Biography

My name is Sherry Chiang. I am a Reed college graduate who studied studio art and has worked as a brand and product designer. I have tutored for over 10 years. I have experience tutoring a multitude of academic subjects, ranging from algebra to calculus, biology, chemistry, U. S. history, and more. I have taught both kids and adults, ranging from ages 5 to 45. In addition, I have scored in the 99th percentile of the ACT and PSAT. I love working with my students. I would love to help out with your education needs and goals towards self improvement and growth.

Working with students, many of whom faced significant academic challenges, helped me understand the importance of individualized solutions. For example, I supported a student who struggled with focus and motivation by breaking tasks into manageable steps, introducing interactive methods like timed exercises, and providing consistent encouragement. These techniques not only helped improve his grades but also rebuilt his confidence.

Throughout my career, I’ve prioritized solving complex problems with empathy and collaboration. As a Product and Brand Design Lead at Kooth Digital Health, I partnered with cross-functional teams to design and refine features that improved user experiences for those seeking mental health support. My work included enhancing onboarding processes, simplifying user profiles, and developing tools like journaling and mood mapping to help users track their emotional well-being. I also contributed to designing personalized content pathways that resonated with individual needs. These experiences taught me how to create systems that address the unique challenges of managing ongoing health concerns while fostering a sense of empowerment for users. My passion for mental health, art, and reading shine through my tutoring sessions.
