Biography

As a former child actor turned writer, documentary researcher, and educator, I’ll be the first to admit: I wasn’t exactly the average kid. Days at school would often clash with days on set. Most of the time, I’d have to balance both in a frantic back-and-forth from the camera to the classroom when there was a second to spare. But there was always a constant refrain from the people around me: despite my fast success, it was just as important to get a proper education. And thanks to my parents and the school system of Scituate, Rhode Island, I got exactly that. I later graduated from Brown University with a double major in both history and film.

I’ve worked hard over the years, but as these years have passed, I’ve come to realize just how crucial certain role models proved to be.  The guidance of my own mentors led me down a path I couldn’t be prouder to have embarked upon. As a college counselor, I seek to do the same for others: to provide students the resources and sense of support I was fortunate enough to receive. Each and every student deserves a tailor-made experience, a guide to help them recognize their strengths and implement them to maximum efficacy at a place that will challenge them in the best ways.

Both my extensive training in executive functioning skills and my time as a teacher in one-to-one learning environments have allowed me to help my students combat feelings of anxiety or doubt as they embark upon the college application process. I encourage students to examine their own lives, interests and passions and incorporate them in this process now more than ever. To choose a college is to navigate a sea of opportunity, and inside each student is a compass made from their individual skills and personal strengths. Whether revising college essays or exploring aspects of campus life, I employ forward thinking and a personable nature with each and every student I see.

In my free time,  I feel like I read way too much but also not enough. I work in movies and television as an actor, and I love writing screenplays. As for physical activity, I just started surfing – which for now consists of me falling with style.
