Biography

From an early age, I found joy in exploring new ideas and subjects, often spending my summers immersed in the library, checking out books from every section. My love for discovery led me to study cognitive science, a field that integrates philosophy, linguistics, social science, neuroscience, computer science, and psychology. This interdisciplinary approach fascinated me, as it allowed for the exploration of the brain’s complexity from different perspectives. I went on to earn degrees in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Computer Science from the University of Rochester, with minors in Psychology and Philosophy. After graduating, I published a paper on detecting photorealistic AI-generated images using techniques from deep learning and computer vision.

As a tutor, I enjoy working with K-8 students, helping them build a strong foundation in math, reading, and writing, while also guiding them through study skills essential to their academic journey. I find it particularly rewarding to watch my students gain confidence in their abilities as they progress in their learning. My prior experience includes tutoring middle schoolers in summer programs, where I led small book-group discussions and math sessions, as well as guiding high school students through the college application essay process, helping them express their unique stories.

My tutoring approach is patient, flexible, and student-centered. I adapt each 1-1 session to the individual needs of my students, emphasizing a deep understanding of concepts rather than rote memorization. Building confidence and making learning engaging are central to my practice. Whether students are mastering fundamental skills or tackling challenging new material, I believe in fostering an environment where they feel empowered to take ownership of their education.

Outside of tutoring, I’m an avid road cyclist who enjoys exploring the many scenic climbs of the Peninsula. I’m also a dedicated Golden State Warriors fan and a competitive juggler, having competed in international events across the U.S. and Canada.
