Sid Bagga

Test Prep and Academic Tutor

Biography

From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the questions of “why” and “how.” My love for reading sparked an early interest in history, to understand the customs we follow, and science, to explore how objects and systems function. When I began my studies at UC Davis, I was undeclared, but a compelling course in microeconomics captured my attention. In economics, I found a perfect blend of my interests—a mathematical and evidence-based exploration of human behavior. This led me to transfer to UC Berkeley, where I completed my degree.

During my time as a student, I discovered the joy of teaching through tutoring fellow undergraduates in mathematics and economics. After graduating, I pursued a career as a data analyst, while continuing to nurture my passion for education as a reading tutor for first graders and a cross-country coach for high school students.

In these endeavors, I’ve found success working closely with students to set goals, track their progress, and maintain motivation. In academic settings, I enjoy helping students connect abstract concepts across courses and relate them to real-world situations. My favorite aspect of teaching is watching students gain independence and confidence in their ability to master new topics, as they discover the learning style that suits them best.

At AJ, I love to support students in developing the skills needed to excel in standardized tests and school admissions, preparing them for success in their future endeavors. My own SAT preparation was crucial in unlocking opportunities, both in university admissions and beyond, and I look forward to helping students reach their full potential on these exams.

Outside of work, I can often be found immersed in a good book, honing my programming skills, or training for 10Ks and half marathons in the East Bay hills.
