Biography

I knew I wanted to go into marine biology from the time I was in the fifth grade, and the decision that has carried me for more than a decade wasn’t made because of something I experienced in the classroom–it was a video game. I’ve always been a staunch believer in the importance of learning outside of traditional education settings, and one-on-one tutoring provides a personalized setting for students to effectively explore and cultivate their skills.

I was born and raised in Rhode Island, and received undergraduate degrees in both marine biology and theatre from Roger Williams University, joining and even running a similarly wide variety of extracurricular clubs while there. I’ve since moved out to the Bay Area to pursue a graduate degree in biology at CSU East Bay, where I spent time as a TA, getting more of an understanding of traditional education, lesson prep, and exam creation.

When not at work, I love writing and reading fantasy fiction, cooking, and crochet, as well as Italian style longsword.
