Biography

I joined AJ tutoring because I really like sharing my knowledge of math, chemistry, and other subjects with students, and inspiring students to genuinely be or become interested in what they’re learning. I find that there’s no better way to improve grades or test scores than learning to enjoy studying whatever is in the class or on the test, as this produces self-motivated learners, who will do the work for classes, study for tests, and in general be more confident academically.

Math and chemistry have been two of my favorite subjects since middle school, and even before in the case of math. I’ve been tutoring math and chemistry informally since high school, when I would help students during lunch. Not surprisingly, I decided to major in math in college (at Ave Maria University in Florida), and also started formally tutoring students there, first in math, then in writing and other subjects.

Outside of my tutoring life, I also work at Boulder Ridge Golf Club in San Jose, where I change the holes and do other maintenance work, and am a stargazer by night.
