Biography

I always enjoyed school, but I was never passionate about a particular subject until reaching high school. While at Lynbrook High School, I took AP Biology and fell in love with genetics and enzyme function. After graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in molecular biology, I spent ten years doing research in biotech.

However, I realized I missed sharing my passion for learning with others, so I switched gears. I got my multiple subject teaching credential from San Jose State University and taught fifth grade and middle school science. Throughout that time, I also tutored students in subjects from kindergarten reading and writing to AP Biology.

I love when my students get excited about a topic and really dive into the subject, and I look to foster a passion for learning in all my students. In addition, I believe in cultivating students’ study and test taking skills while encouraging their goals and interests so that they can be successful throughout school and beyond.

In my free time, I love to read fantasy books that have a happy ending, to cook, and to say hello to all the dogs at local parks.
