Biography

From an early age, I have always loved learning. I remember getting in trouble for reading too late past my bedtime in elementary school. As I progressed through school, my love for reading expanded into a desire to learn and grow every day. Over the years, I’ve realized that I also have a passion for sharing knowledge and helping kids be their best selves.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and I went to Aragon High School. I graduated from UC Irvine with a BS in biomedical engineering. Many of my classes required synthesizing content knowledge from different courses, teaching me to think outside the box.

I have found that problem solving skills help to demystify standardized tests and challenging concepts. The SAT often presents students with problems that, at first, look wildly different from what students have seen in class. However, I strive to show students that these problems only reframe what they have already learned and to provide students with strategies they can use to approach problems methodically.

I spent many years working as a summer camp counselor, rock climbing instructor, and academic tutor. From teaching preschoolers how to swim, adults to rock climb, and students from Kindergarten to high school to navigate their academic studies, I have always been passionate about helping others thrive. Through working with such a wide variety of students, I have learned to appreciate the importance of addressing each student’s individual strengths and weaknesses to find what works for them. My goal is to give my students the tools they need to think critically, and I aim to instill confidence in them so that they can be independent and prepared for for success in the future.

When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, or anything else outside.
