Biography

I graduated from the University of California at Davis with a double major in History and Spanish. My interest in literary and intellectual history led me to pursue graduate studies in literature, an interest that culminated in a Master of Arts in Hispanic Studies from Brown University, where I wrote my thesis on a comparative analysis of the works of the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges with the works of philosophers and writers of the interwar period in Europe. Afterwards, I spent a year studying abroad at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. In Salamanca, aside from conducting scholarly research, I tutored international college students in English and Spanish studies. Back in the United States, I taught at a private school teaching classes to students from elementary school to high school.

I am a strong believer in the 1-to-1 tutoring experience, as I personally came to realize the positive academic impact it had when I tutored students during office hours as a teacher. I believe giving personalized attention to students is the best approach to learning. Students come from all walks of life and have different learning styles, and tutoring can help improve those areas where students struggle the most.

Aside from tutoring, I do a lot of work in photography. I have given photography workshops to K-12 students in the past and love to take photographs whenever I travel. I am also an avid reader and soccer fan.

Happy parents and students.
